New Holland Brewing Company would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest brewer Tim Faith!
Tim is from Glenview, IL and has three sisters and two brothers. He’s excited to be a part of the NHBC team of brewers and says, “I’m looking forward to working with a great team of individuals who all have a similar passion and motivation towards beer that I do.” He says on being a brewer, “I possess the skills to craft something that others look to as a reward, perhaps for a long day at the job. Except for me, my reward is my job!” Tim has worked at one other brewery in the Quad Cities that began as part of an internship he designed within his microbiology program. “I would spend half my time acquainting myself with the functions and equipment in the brewery and the other time in the lab- culturing, propagating, purifying, preserving and testing different varieties of yeast.” He eventually was hired in and became a brewer, until he found New Holland.
When thinking about what he wanted most from the craft beer industry he found himself honing in on places that specialized in variety/experimentation. “I found New Holland to breath professionalism, but without forgetting the fun of the industry. I value the influence seen in each individual and the respect given to them as part of a company.” When asked about his favorite New Holland Beer, he replied, “I’m really digging small batch specialties lately!” But his go-to beers are usually The Poet or Mad Hatter and an occasional Blue Sunday as a treat.
On a less work-focused note, Tim used to play the tin whistle at Irish pubs around Chicago when he was little and has a beer blog with over 650 beers reviewed! Click here to check out his blog! He also enjoys cooking, running, reading, and of course, hanging out at the Pub! The best vacation Tim ever took was on an internship to Sydney, Australia where he got to spend weekends going to the beach or surf camp, hiking the Blue Mountains, scuba diving/snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns and exploring the city. He also went mountain climbing, bungie-jumping and kayaking! (We’re shocked he ever came back too).
Welcome to the team Tim!
Cheers!
This is great Sir, so proud that I can say I know you. I know you are going to be doing great things at New Holland!
Way to go Tim!
