An overdue welcome goes to Jimmy Alcumbrack McDaniel! Jimmy started at New Holland Brewing in January and is the SE Michigan Beer & Spirits Ambassador. Jimmy manages wholesale and retail accounts, brand presentation and support, event coordination, and attendance and promotion for New Holland Brewing in the Southern and Eastern territories of Michigan. He describes his job as, “preaching the good word of NHBC to the people of South East Michigan and making sure NHBC beer is available to them.”
Hailing from New Orleans, Jimmy went to college at what is now the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. He says, “I changed my major three times and ended up studying Architecture. I did not finish due to moving to Los Angeles to be a rock star.” Soon after, he decided to be a brewing rock star in Michigan and began working at Corner Brewery, part of Arbor Brewing Company. About four years later he had conversations with many people in the micro-brew industry who felt that he would be great at being a beer ambassador. His personality, Jimmy says, is his strongest quality and what allows him to be an excellent beer ambassador, “I love meeting new people and I love converting the average domestic lager drinker to a craft beer lover!” Challenges he sees along the way? “Getting my knowledge of spirits up to the “expert” level. That will come in due time as I am but a Padawan Learner.”
Jimmy has been married to his wife, Celia, for 7 years and they have two children together, “Kyan (5 going on 12 going on 6) and Sophia (3 going on 18).” In his free time Jimmy enjoys skateboarding. He adds, “been on a board since I was 14… still can’t do any tricks!” He also likes playing and listening to music, drawing, camping, and being silly with his kids.
Pilgrim’s Dole, Envious, and Golden Cap top his list for favorite New Holland brews and Hopquila is one of his favorite spirits, although he does need some Brewer’s Whiskey for “research.” 
Jimmy’s long term goal “is simply to contribute to the NHBC team anyway [he] can.” His personal career goal is for a long term commitment “to bringing the people the great beer they so rightly deserve!” We are so happy to have Jimmy spreading the NHBC word throughout the state of Michigan!
