Sep 3, 2010 - 5pm-8pm - Live Music at the Pub
Join us for our last Backyard Beer-B-Q of the season!!
About Rick:
Rick has been entertaining West Michigan crowds for over 30 years. He plays a mean electric guitar, but acoustic guitar music is his first love ... his "roots". He has a massive repertoire of energetic rock songs and mellow folk songs. An occasional blues or country song shows off Rick's impressive variety of acoustic stylings.
Here is the "Real Deal"! Rick doesn't use back-tracks or sheet music to distract from the emotional con...tent of the music. People love the raw acoustic ballads and unplugged rockers that Rick performs with minimal gimmicks getting in the way of the energy and emotion.
Rick is constantly adding more cover songs to his show, so it's never the same ol' same ol'. Rick loves doing great rare songs that aren't worn-out from too much airplay.
He packed the patio last time he was here at the pub! Be sure to come check him out if you missed it!

Those Eighty Acres (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Sep 11, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
From Grand Rapids, MI, Those Eighty Acres is defined by its four members as a subtle fusion of folk, rock, country, and pop. It is comprised of core members Nate Scott, Jordan Griffis, Dan Slane, and Kevin Fein. Dan and Nate were introduced in mid 2008 and came together in early 2009 with the intention of musically filling out Nate's narrative song writing. Guitarist Jordan Griffis, a friend of Dan's from two previous projects, came into the picture shortly thereafter. Nate then called on an old friend and musical co-conspirator of his own - soon Kevin Fein stepped in on bass duties and the group was complete. The band adds auxiliary musicians and vocalists as needed and is always looking for future collaborators. Their first studio album, 1905, is the fruition of the four's love of music, literature, art, and peace; it features additional vocals by Lindsy Griffis and The Howlers' Matt Ten Clay. Full Cord (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Sep 18, 2010 - 6pm-9pm - Live Music at the Pub
Join us for our annual Autumnfest Celebration! Full Cord will debut as our second band of the day.
Full Cord started as a project between band members Todd Kirchner, Eric Langejans, Paul Kirchner, and Kurt Westie. All seasoned musicians, they wanted to build a musically diverse band using traditional bluegrass instruments.
The band has an extraordinary song base, with songs ranging from traditional country and bluegrass to modern... pop hits, big band era tunes and everything in between (and we do mean everything!). With hundreds of songs in their repertoire, they never run out of songs to choose from.
The band’s performances are done using a single microphone traditionally seen on the Grand Ole Opry. Instrument solos and vocal parts are all choreographed around the single microphone bringing an old-timey feel to their performance.
The band is based in West Michigan and has had the privilege of performing all over the state, from private parties and events to breweries, barns and bluegrass festivals.
Full Cord has over 100 years of combined musical experience and is using their extraordinary talent to break the bluegrass stereotype and breath new life into it. They are introducing new styles and arrangements that keep everyone wanting more.

Delilah Dewylde and the Lost Boys (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Sep 18, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
Join us for our annual Autumnfest Celebration! New Holland presents Delilah Dewylde and the Lost Boys as this year's headlining act.
With all the popularity and interest there is today in what is referred to as “New Country”, what would posses four seasoned musicians to go entirely the other direction? Call it integrity, going against the grain, being niche-y, whatever. Delilah Dewylde and the Lost Boys march to the country shuffle of a bygone era; before country was on FM radio, before country artists had personal trainers, and most certainly, before country sounded like rock and roll with fiddle.
Mixing self penned songs with old country hits (and unknown gems) by such artists as Hank Williams, Webb Pierce, Ernest Tubb, and Buck Owens to name a few, Delilah and the Lost Boys come out on stage looking and sounding like a 45 year step back in time. Dressed to the nines in the tradition of pre-color television country singers and musicians, donning matching western suits and playing the finest vintage musical instruments in the finest old school way.

Jimmy Pop! (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Sep 24, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
It was a fateful summer night at the Hub's Inn in Grand Rapids, MI. Well known West Coast band, the Shirey Brothers, were chugging through their set when the keyboardist's son, Mark Andrasko, sat in on guitar and sang. Heads turned throughout the bar, including longtime drummer Jimmy Kavanagh's. Plans were discussed and friendships' formed. Thus the seeds of Jimmy Pop were laid.
With Keith Andrasko on keys and James Kavanagh combining over 40 years of bar gigging experience, Jimmy Pop is a band on a mission.. to bring smiles to people's faces and ladies to the dance floor. Add a dose of Mark's youthful energy and you've got a band that can satisfy young and old alike for hours.
What's it like having father and son in the same band? Well.. Scientists predict the synergy of father and son coupled with Jimmy K's funkadelic beats may rip a hole in the fabric of space-time itself. But you'll just have to see it to believe it...

Uncle Rhombus (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Sep 25, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
Most jam bands don’t like to be pigeonholed as such. When you say “jam band” people just think you sound like Phish or Umphrees Mcgee, though that seldom is the case. It’s an umbrella term that incorporates many different styles such as rock, blues or funk and relies heavily on improvisational skills. To simplify: Uncle Rhombus is a rock band with elements of funk, blues, reggae, ska, punk and country.
Their diverse musical background enables Uncle Rhombus to attract a variety of fans. Each member contributes to the creation process. Each song sounds different, but each song sounds like Uncle Rhombus.
The band has been together in some form since 2002. They’ve had the current lineup since 2005, after the death of their friend and drummer, Josh Hall. They are from Holland, Michigan, and they play most of their shows in the area.
Check out Uncle Rhombus as they debut here at the pub!

The Macpodz (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Oct 1, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
Ann Arbor's jazz rock outfit, The Macpodz, throw some of the coolest parties around. With a little bit of everything in its musical grab bag, The Macpodz easily please music lovers, from fans of far out jazz to those rootsy jam band-style grooves. The inventor and namesake of its own brand of funky dance music, coined 'disco-bebop,' The Macpodz pay homage to kinky musical concoctions like the groovy, unstructured big band instrumental works of the late, great Frank Zappa with psychadelic tinges of sunglasses-and-afro era Miles Davis. With two solid albums under its belt and a slew of foot-shuffling fans across the region, The Macpodz impress as only an open-minded band can, taking the core of genuine American music and tossing in tasteful touches of world music grooves and lots and lots of swinging horn licks that rouse and comfort all at once. Join us for their debut performance here at the pub!

Scarlet Oaks (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Oct 2, 2010 - Oct 3, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
With the release of their debut EP “Innocence Isn’t Easy”, Scarlet Oaks unveil five well-crafted songs that cover genera such as folk, soul, garage, indie and classic country. With new beginnings come new opportunities and challenges. Founding members Steve McCauley and Noelle Christine Lothamer had both We come from “rock and roll” backgrounds, but Noelle had never played with someone who had such a strong folk and country influence on their song writing. Likewise, Steve had never played with someone who had such a pension for vocals and harmonies. Red Sea Pedestrians (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Oct 23, 2010 - Oct 24, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
The Red Sea Pedestrians are a one-of-a-kind, full-blown, instrument-swapping fusion between tradition and the here-and-now. We’re talkin’ high-energy world-beat grooves, hypnotic laments from the earth, songs of celebration and wonder: a warped and beautiful blend of Klezmer, Greek, Gypsy, Celtic, Jazz and American Roots, all filtered through the band’s original vision.
RSP are a melting pot of six distinct singer/songwriters, almost a self-contained variety show. Their sound is first defined by the sweet interplay between clarinet and violin, and is colored by three fine singers and multi-instrumentalists and an amazingly facile drummer. Together, they provides the backbone to a musical experience that is both harmonically and rhythmically gratifying. All of these musicians are also students of the great records of the sixties (notably late Beatles), and hence they have created a realm that is both comforting and challenging to the listener. Multi-layered lyrics, rich harmonies, and masterful playing complete the story.
Their captivating live shows and ambitious CDs have been getting rave reviews and building an energetic buzz throughout Michigan’s independent acoustic music community, including the garnering of nominations for two WYCE Jammie Awards: Best World Beat Album & Best Debut World Beat Artist.
