The Great Taste of the Midwest is one of the premier beer festivals in the United States. On the second Saturday in August, over one hundred brewpubs and microbreweries from the Midwest come to beautiful Olin-Turville Park overlooking lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, to share beer and good times with six thousand patrons.

The Felt Mansion Culinary Showcase combines the beauty and elegance of a 1920’s mansion with the talents and delicious food and drinks from area restaurants, breweries, wineries, and musicians.

Raise your glass to conservation at the fifth annual Brew at the Zoo. Sample beer from more than 35 microbreweries. New holland will be on hand pouring Full Circle-Kolsch and The Poet-Oatmeal Stout.

Your ticket includes:

-Live music by local entertainers Gonzo's Nose and the Batala Percussion Band.

Proceeds support animal care, conservation science, education, and sustainability at the National Zoo.

Armand's Pizzeria, Hard Times Café, and Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company will be providing food for sale during the event.

Tickets are $35 for friends of the zoo members and $50 for non-members.

Sober driver tickets are also available for $15. Sober drivers will not receive a commemorative mug and will not be served beer.

You must be at least 21 years old to attend this event. A valid ID is required for admission. This is an adults-only event. Babies and children will not be admitted.

Please note that smoking is not permitted at the Zoo. Brew at the Zoo will be held rain or shine.

Come on down to the First Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival. There will be a taste testing of some of the best tomatoes you will ever have, a salsa contest, kids events, great dishes created with tomatoes by Chef Glen of Red's on the River and pleanty of New Holland Beer.

On Sunday, August 23rd, The Publican and New Holland Brewing Company will be kicking off the ninth date in The Publican's yearlong series of beer dinners; The Brew Masters Series. This dinner features a special beer that the Publican and New Holland Brewing Company got together and collaboratively brewed.

New Holland Brewing Company and the Publican Beer dinner:

Golden Cap & wood grilled cheese, market heirloom tomatoes, Calabrian Chiles and extra virgin olive oil.

Collaborative Biere de Garde & sand dabs, sweetbread and artichokes.

Charkoota Rye & peaches, soba and la quercia rossa.

Blue Sunday & confit suckling pig with tuscan kale, heirloom apples, guanciale and burnt caramel.

Pilgrim's Dole & ricotta figs raspberries and graham cracker.

We are thrilled to invite you to join us for the First Annual Traverse City Microbrewery & Music Festival (TCMMF) on Saturday, August 29, 2009, on the beautiful front lawn and woods of The Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City, Michigan.

This event aims to be one of the greatest in the state with beers from around the Midwest, focusing especially on Michigan brews. Outside of great craft beer, we will feature national touring musical acts on two stages. Hear the musical influences of Blues, Zydeco, World, Acoustic, Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz, Afrobeat through the music of The Legendary Buckwheat Zydeco Band, Clumsy Lovers, Caravan of Thieves, Mike Moran + Levi Britton, Delilah Dewylde & The Lost Boys, Luke Winslow-King and more. TCMMF will be alive with music and art experiences as musicians and artists will roam and meander through the crowd.

This beer festival will be unlike any other in Michigan and we hope to make this a favorite of beer lovers, music lovers and brewers. We also have a strong dedication to the local harvest and many local foods will be paired with great beer.

Simien the Whale was born on the night of 0ctober 28, 2006 at Czar's 505 in St. Joseph, Michigan while opening for Troll for Trout. Since then, Simien the Whale has been working to spread their music throughout the west/mid Michigan area and beyond. The trio released their first EP entitled "1982" in March of 2008. The record has been embraced by local and regional radio stations, and was even honored by WYCE with 2 "Jammie Award" nominations (Best New Local Artist, Listener's Choice Award). An MSU Radio DJ declared the song "Dirty" one of the best songs of 2008 on their blog for the Impact show "The Basement".Simien the Whale's fan base has grown significantly since the latter half of 2008 as radio promotion and show scale have increased. Both "Re-Energized in a Man's Life," and the quirky Kriss, Kross reprise "Jump" have regular airplay on several Michigan radio stations. Always expanding their catalog, Simien the Whale has returned to the studio to record a full-length album, due out Winter 2009.

Brüegala is a festival of international beer, boasting more than 200 brews from near and far. This event, held each September by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees, is celebrating its 9th anniversary.

Each year, the festival draws larger and larger crowds of cheerful beer lovers from across the Midwest. Every attendee receives a souvenir tasting glass, along with access to great beers, live music and event merchandise. A bags tournament will ensue on Saturday starting at 5:30.

The B.O.B.'s ultimate beer event featuring 20 + beers from local breweries, beer tastings, locally grown foods, live music and the Microbrew Throwdown!

Join us at the first Michigan Brewer's Guild festival in the Upper Peninsula!
Mark your calendars now for September 12th in Marquette. The Festival will take place at Ellwood Mattson Lower Harbor Park, overlooking Lake Superior. Although the event is labeled as “Oktoberfest,” it will feature a blend of characteristics you’ve become accustomed to at the MBG Summer and Winter Festivals, traditional UP hospitality and hints of Bavaria.

New Holland will be pouring Mad Hatter IPA, The Poet Oatmeal Stout, Sundog Amber Ale, Full Circle Kolsch, Oak Aged Hatter Oak Aged IPA, Brother Jacob Dubbel, Ichabod Pumpkin Ale, Charkoota Rye Smoked Rye Dopplebock, Night Tripper Imperial Stout and Dragon's Milk Oak Aged Ale.

Tickets will be $30 in advance $35 at the gate.

Led by the 12 string guitar-playing singer songwriter Lynn Thompson, this band features a roster of great talent that brings an unusually professional texture to a local effort. Aside from the obvious Dave Matthews angle, the band has moments of Morphine, with beefy riffs and bari sax, along with Thompson's direct lyrical style. Overall, a cool funk moves through the band, punctuated by the occasional rock grind and harmony-driven layer of horns. Choosen as the number one band to see at the Festival of the Arts 2009 by the Grand Rapids Press. Even thought they are an original band they cover songs such as; Who Can It Be, Bakers Street, Use Me, Modern Love, and much more. If you want to dance, get down funky, or experience some great musicians, this is the band to see.

Join us at the 6th Annual Great Lakes Brewfest.

The festival features unlimited sampling of more than 250 craft beers and sodas from nearly 100 brewers on the beautiful shore of Lake Michigan. All paid attendees will receive a souvenir tasting glass. Food served by local restaurants will be available for purchase. The festival also features live music including performances by the world renowned Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps.

Mixing self penned songs with old country hits (and unknown gems) by such artists as Hank Williams, Webb Pierce, Ernest Tubb, and Buck Owens to name a few, Delilah and the Lost Boys come out on stage looking and sounding like a 45 year step back in time. Dressed to the nines in the tradition of pre-color television country singers and musicians, donning matching western suits and playing the finest vintage musical instruments in the finest old school way.

Laith Al-Saadi has been a staple of the Detroit music scene for most of his adult life. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, this talented 30 year old began singing at age 4 and began playing guitar at 13. At 15 years old Al- Saadi formed his first blues band, "Blue Vinyl". Since 2000, Laith Al-Saadi has enjoyed growing success as the Detroit area's premier singer and guitarist. Working relentlessly around town, Al-Saadi generally can be found playing at least 5 nights a week. This determination has led to recent opening slots for artists like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Leon Russell, Robben Ford, Johnny Winter, Hubert Sumlin, Olu Dara, Ten Years After, Mountain, The Yardbirds and - most notably- BB King at the House of Blues in Chicago (June 8th, 2006). In Jan. 2009 Al-Saadi released his second solo effort, In the Round. The new record is an eclectic collection of all-original music that explores many facets of Al-Saadi's influences taking the listener on a genre defying musical journey.

WMRR has invited nearly 20 beer makers to the L.C. Walker Arena to serve samples of their very best craft beers. Each brewer will bring at least 4-6 different beers, which means there will be more than 100 different beers to sample. You can sample a variety of different types of beer in one easy setting. Everyone who attends will get a special souvenir 4 oz. glass for sampling purposes and if you get tired of sampling, there will be 14 oz beers for sale too.

New Holland will be on hand pouring Golden Cap Saison, Ichabod Pumpkin Ale, Mad Hatter IPA and Dragon's Milk Oak Aged Ale.

Admission is $15 per person. Each person will receive a special 4 oz souvenir glass – while they last – with a paid admission. Included with the glass will be five (5) sample beer tickets to get you started (you must be 21 to attend).

When you run out of sample beer tickets, you may purchase more. Or if you just want to watch the comedy and enjoy a full beer, you may purchase a 14 oz beer for four (4) tickets.

(The Real Detroit Says....) Here we have a sharp, tremendously talented East Side trio who, at their most settled, would fit into post-rock realms of jazz/rock hybrids like Tortoise or the Sea & Cake. With guitar-heavy and inventive melodies, their sparse but unerringly profound lyrics of a nihilistic and overly technology-laden world amazingly coincide with their exceptional harmonies. These brief poeticisms are just jumping off points so that the masterful, freewheeling instrumentalists can cyclone into beautiful spurts of tightly synched improvisation. All the subtle explosions captured here only hint at the marvelous jazz-rock torrents of their live shows.

Join Chef Marc Djozlija, the Wolfgang Puck Staff and Brett VanderKamp, founder of New Holland Brewing Co. for a evening of craft beer and food.
