Glean Infusion (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Aug 21, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
Grand Rapids-based jam/fusion band, Glean Infusion was formed in 2007 as a collective musical experience intended to encompass and celebrate the diversity of the band member's influences. The high-energy collective truly embodies what it means to be a "band", finding risk taking, improvising and spontaneous communication to be the keystones of their original, raw sound.
Band members, Adam Balcer (guitar, vocals), Paul Geoghan (bass, vocals), Dan Robinson (drums, percussion), Steve Wheeler (percussion) and Jason Wheeler (mandolin, vocals) have erupted on the regional music scene in a short time and have since performed alongside national acts such as Karl Denson, Ekoostik Hookah, RAQ, Hal Ketchum and many more. Glean Infusion thoughtfully uses music as a means to grow, enhance and celebrate community, art and life.

Funkteenth St. (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Aug 27, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
Welcome to Funkteenth St.; A funky little place with talent and taste. Our neighborhood of music is a warm welcoming space full of superb elements of rhythmic ferocity, sonic tenacity, and thunderous bump. Funkteenth St. is a local up and coming band. Comprised of four local guys, born and raised in West Michigan, they consist of John Auwema on guitar, Lee Bosman on bass, BJ Males on drums, and Matt Radowski on keyboards & vocals. Believe it or not Funkteenth St has been together for just over a year, yet these guys are not new to music. With influences from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles to The Meters and Miles Davis, Funkteenth St. has a veritable plethora of influence and a substantial range from which to draw their musical styles. With over a decade of musical pursuit each, these four guys came together to create Funkteenth St.; just the right blend of rhythm, passion, and style. Funk, blues, rock and groove ridin’ is the specialty of the group’s sound. Each member brings their own bit of flare to the stage and the result is spectacular. So come on down to Funkteenth St!

Rootstand (66 E. 8th St. Holland, MI)
Aug 28, 2010 - 10pm-1am - Live Music at the Pub
Rootstand successfully marries the sounds of traditional forms of Roots musics, like Irish reels, and old world polkas, Caribbean ska to American blues and bluegrass to the cutting edge sounds of experimental blues and groove, urban hip-hop, dancehall reggae, and electronica. Our music is very diverse, yet completely logical: Ska and Polka, bluegrass and reggae, hip-hop and country blues, dancehall and Irish reels. What we do is not a token conglomeration of popular forms, it is altogether something new, a new sound, built upon the foundations of traditional music but never intending to replicate it.
Rootstand had the opportunity to jam with a host of great musicians in the past couple years, including John Sinclair, Donna the Buffalo, Lotus, The Brothers Past, Sam Bush, George Clinton and the 420 Funk Mob, Victor Wooten, The Zen Tricksters, Melvin Seals and Rob Wasserman, Tony Furtado, Vince Welnick Band, Mr. Blotto, Derek Trucks Band, Benevento and Russo Duo, Railroad Earth, Jorma Kaukonen and Hot Tuna, Ekoostik Hookah, Tim O'Brian, Chris Smither, Tony Rice and Peter Rowan, Jerry Garcia Band, Henry Butler, Mamadou Diabate, Cornmeal, Grada, Jazz is Dead and seriously many more. We are honored to have shared the stage with these, and all our brother and sister musicians.
