Bar and Beverage Manager (Restaurant & Pub)
Description
The Bar and Beverage Manager will oversee and coordinate the organization, education, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in bar sales, purchases and inventories of wine/ beer/ spirits while maintaining a clean and sanitary Pub. This manager will be responsible for championing New Holland’s craft-perspective as it relates to beverage service within the Pub.This is a full-time position.
Duties
Training & Development:* Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs of NHBC.
* Ensure proper training, bar knowledge and education, opening/closing duties, weekly cleaning, and bar organization
* Liaison with Pub Brewer, Distiller, and Production Facility while learning to collaborate with each department.
* Develop Bar trainers, bartenders and bar-backs to be Cicerone certified.
* Continually strive to develop staff in all areas.
Guest Service:
* Manage all bar staff to ensure proper guest service and satisfaction.
* Maintain all Beer and Root Beer Keg orders for customers
* Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
* Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
Menus & Presentation:
* Update Drink menus with new cocktail recipes seasonally and maintain Fresh Market infusions according to season.
* Ensure that all food and drink products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, mixing and serving standards.
* Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
* Maintain a clean and organized beer cooler, both, upstairs, downstairs and cask cooler.
* Achieve company objectives in Bar and restaurant sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of bar staff and creating a positive, productive working environment.
Inventory Development:
* Help maintain proper inventory levels of beer, spirits and wine, record all purchases, reconcile bar inventory and troubleshoot any problem areas.
* Maintain and update all mug club memberships
* Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures.
* Assist other managers with interviewing, training and termination.
* Assist with any NHBC special events
* Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
Policy/Regulations/Procedures:
* Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
* Oversee and ensure that restaurant policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis.
* Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
* Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
* Attend weekly manager meetings and actively participate.
Required Skills
* Be 21 years of age.* Maintain (minimum) Cicerone certification and Serve Safe/ TIPS Certified
* Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area.
* Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of bartending and front of house operations.
* Receive a 90% or better on our in house bar exam
* Must have the stamina to work 35 to 50 hours per week, and in a standing position for long periods of time, some days up to 10 hours.

Description

Description
This position is based at our downtown Holland restaurant and pub and reports directly to our owner/General Manager, David White. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.Duties
* Organize and restock retail store on a regular basis.* Tag all new merchandise as orders arrive.
* Perform weekly inventory of all merchandise.
* Fulfill customer orders accurately and timely.
* Update merchandise inventory reports.
* Maintain a clean and organized back stock of merchandise.
* Develop tablescapes for retail promotions to coordinate with the seasons, holidays and beer releases.
* Prepare and maintain gift basket presentation in the retail areas.

Required Skills
