About
If you had told me at my first “Career Day” in high school that being a brewer was an option, I would have told you to sign me up. Unfortunately high school guidance counselors are oblivious to anything that resembles a career in the beer industry. Thus, I had to take it upon myself to train in the ways of becoming a brewer.

The idea of starting a brewery occurred to me sometime during my college years. I received my degree in “the art of keeping my grades just high enough not to get asked to leave school” and thus, had I plenty of time for extracurricular activities. Little did I know this time spent away from my studies would appropriately prepare me for my future business endeavors.

From there, my story follows that of many American craft brewers. I thought it would be cool to make a batch of beer that I could enjoy, and I successfully made a couple of batches of good hand crafted beer. While sampling one of the batches I thought, “I wonder if I could make a business making and selling beer?” There is obviously more to the story, but that is truly how the idea of starting a brewery was born. A few years later, with the help of a life long friend, my family and some wonderful investors, New Holland Brewing Company was born. I love the brewing business and I love the people in the business. I am truly blessed to have an amazing team that continually strives to improve everything about New Holland.

As we roll into our second decade of brewing, we continue improve our craft. At New Holland, we have worked hard to bring you a product that is creative and honest. I hope and trust that your experience with New Holland has been an enjoyable one.

Some of my other interests and goals include: local and state politics, blue gill fishing, mountain biking, being a husband and dad, troublemaking, and playing soccer. Further, I always seem to find the time to advocate for a true monetary policy based on sound money… otherwise known as the gold standard! For more conversations on this and other varying subjects don’t hesitate to shoot me an email!

Cheers,

Brett
