As a young man I stumbled across a small brewery by chance and my life has not been the same since. Nine years ago I volunteered to bottle for New Holland in exchange for low fills. I was not afraid of a hard days work for beer in trade (nine hours of bottling for a couple of cases)! My education of beer and life was just starting to blossom. Soon my hangout spot became my place of employment. I officially became the first employee (Intern at New Holland). Paleooza was my sustanace during the early years.
Currently I help motivate and mentor our pub management team. I like to call myself the Director of Chaos but things really don't get too crazy around here. My great crew of managers and outgoing staff make our pub an exciting place. I enjoy the constant changes that take place and the continued evolution we experience as a company.
Today New Holland has become a strong fixture in our community. We have grown from a 3 man team to over 75 strong. We are making a difference in educating the masses about great beer! We use the slogan "Creative People ~ Remarkable Results" to describe our crew. I think it is truly fitting.
I hope people understand how hard it is to work at a brewery. You have finished a hard days work and just walked down a WHOLE 12 steps to the bar. Do you stop for a beer? Or do you head home? My inner Mad Hatter usually wins and I end up having a beer.
The future looks bright and tastes hoppy! Bartender, pour me a Mad Hatter. I"ll be down in twelve steps.
