On Tuesday, February 21st between 5pm – 9pm, guests can request to sit in the “Tips For Terra” section at New Holland Brewing Co. Restaurant and Pub (66 E. 8th St.) and enjoy “mug club” pricing!! Tips from that section will be donated to Terra’s upcoming trip to Zambia! Terra has about $5,000 left to raise before she leaves.
To catch a glimpse of what her last trip to Zambia was like check out her online journal on Travelpod: http://www.travelpod.com/members/terraleep. Terra will be flying back to Zambia on February 28. While there, she will work alongside Valley View Caregivers’ Club (VVCC), a group of Zambians working to better their community through caring for orphans, vulnerable children, and people living with HIV/AIDS. Engedi Church, from Holland, Michigan, is partnered with them as they work toward financial sustainability. In addition to getting to a point of financial independence, they will be working to expand the scope of their community projects and set up management accordingly.
Terra will also volunteer with Africa’s Child while in Zambia as their business manager. “One of the beautiful things about these organizations is their focus on community,” said Terra. “It is my privilege to spend time with them and much of my free time in the housing compounds and villages of Zambia – being where the people are, learning from them and encouraging them where I can. Thank you for your support whether financial, prayer, encouragement or otherwise!”
